Insurance Administration to Review Certain Regulations
Review of COMAR 31.12
In accordance with the Regulatory Review and Evaluation Act, State Government Article, §§10-130—10-139, Annotated Code of Maryland, the Maryland Insurance Administration (MIA) is reviewing and evaluating certain regulations codified within Subtitle 12 of Title 31 of the Code of Maryland Regulations, entitled Health Maintenance Organizations; Entities That Act As Health Insurers. The purpose of the review and evaluation is to determine whether existing regulations continue to accomplish the purposes for which they were adopted, clarify ambiguous or unclear language, and repeal obsolete or duplicative provisions.
Regulations being reviewed include:
31.12.01 Health Maintenance Organizations – Certificate of Authority and Fiscal Requirements
31.12.03 Health Maintenance Organizations – Mandatory Point-of-Service Option
31.12.04 Dental Plans – General Provisions
31.12.05 Dental Benefit Plan Coverage – Mandatory Point-of-Service Option
31.12.06 Managed Care Organizations – Financial Compliance Requirements
31.12.07 Required Standard Provisions
