If you wish to request records from more than one department of the Maryland Insurance Administration, or if the record that you want is not shown on the chart, you may contact Public Information Act Coordinator Joseph Sviatko at 410-468-2458 or 410-468-2020 (fax).

There are certain records that the Maryland Insurance Administration does not, or cannot, release to you in accordance with Maryland and federal laws and regulations. When we do not release these records, it is often because:

  • We need to protect the privacy of individuals who have asked the Maryland Insurance Administration for help in dealing with an insurance problem;
  • We need to preserve fair competition among insurance carriers, which, in turn, benefits the public; or
  • We need to allow the Maryland Insurance Administration's staff to participate in candid discussions and to carry on investigations in a confidential manner for the public welfare.

If you request a record that the Maryland Insurance Administration does not release to you, we will provide you, in writing, with the reason we did not release the record, the law or regulation that governs the non-disclosure of the record, and your rights of appeal.
